  • Hey, since we've met on Divergent Wiki, I thought I'd give you this badge. So here:

    Emmy's Friend

Congratulations! You have been gifted the honor to be called Emmy's Friend. I might have known you a day, met you today, or have been chatting to you ever since you joined this wiki. I really enjoy talking to you about books, sharing some jokes, writing new hypothetical theories about characters in books, or just sharing the same love of writing, reading, sharing and laughing at funny stories, and the love for potatoes that we commonly share. You have been there for me, and you are a wonderful friend. Thanks so much.

    • You're right that it's hard to mix Candor and Amity. Their virtues can clash if not careful.

I think all of the factions represent stuff that's important but as seen in Divergent, when you put to much into one you lose the other, which I guess ultimately makes you lose something in your faction (That' kinda makes no sense sorry).

I personally would choose Erudite or Amity. Erudite because I value learning and I want to learn so I can do good. And then Amity because I love artistic things like music and painting. (I would probably accidentally kill all the plants). And I feel like I would also have an aptitude for Abnegation because I tend to forget about myself for others. More when I was younger.

Not Candor or Dauntless because I feel like I would be accidentally rude if in Candor and not Dauntless because I'm not confident enough. In regards to their new "manifesto" where it's just jumping off of trains I could do that but standing up for someone requires a confidence in yourself, and I just need to work on that.

That faction sounds like a way better version of Erudite

    • Yeah, somehow kindness and honesty have become opposites, which I don't think they inherently should be, we need to make both what we say and how we say it good. Amity seems to follow that saying 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all', but i only partly agree, i'd change it into ' least say it nicely', so that's a difference.

I understand, I think Divergent basically shows that flaws are pretty much virtues without each other.

Absolutely agree with you about Dauntless; go for it with working on your confidence, you'll make it in time!

I'm glad you think so because the faction represents the nuanced difference between Erudite's and my view of learning, but of course only the corrupted version of Erudite is significantly worse. This faction is the closest to Erudite, but focusing on what things mean rather than how they work. So I figured they'd still be against Erudite when wars start. Their corruption would be closer to Candor's, seeing meanings and intentions even when they're really not there.
